The first assumption is that you have studied all available resources
and notes ahead of time. It is usually best to start a week before
the actual Test so that you give yourself adequate time to review
all your materials in a calm manner.
The day before the Test, remind yourself that you know all the
"stuff" you need to know for your Test. By relaxing your brain is
better able to retrieve it all at your most critical, and tense, time.
Now make sure you get a really good night's sleep.
The day of the Test, eat a good breakfast. One that includes some
simple sugars (like fruit juice), oatmeal and some protein,
like a scrambled egg, with or without cheese. This will help start
your blood sugars in a stable manner, always the best idea on a
high pressure day. I always take along a piece of fruit to eat
just before going into the Test room.
The day of your Test it's really all about your body taking the exam.
You've done all the studying you can, at this point, and now it's just
a matter of getting your body, chemically, in the best position to be
able to transfer what's in your head onto paper. You can do it.
There isn't a single doubt in my mind and hopefully not in yours
either. And, if it helps relax you or build your confidence, say a
little prayer as the Test is being handed out. Asking for a boost
from above is never a bad idea!!
